Unblock Discord and get back into your servers

Your browser talks to TrickyBird, and TrickyBird connects to discord.com for you. On the way through it rewrites the HTML, CSS, and JavaScript so that every link, image, and request inside the page leads back to TrickyBird’s own address instead of out to Discord. A small script stays behind in the tab and catches whatever the app loads later, which on Discord is nearly all of it.

Discord is less a page than an app that holds one connection open for as long as you have it on screen. New messages arrive down that connection rather than on a reload, and TrickyBird tunnels it through the proxy the same way it carries the page itself, with traffic moving in both directions. We watched that hold across 3 separate runs. Telegram and WhatsApp keep their own live connections open through the proxy the same way.

Discord leads with that form rather than with a code you scan from a phone, so an account holder gets in from the computer in front of them and nothing else. We signed in to a real account on 4 August 2026 and it went through on the first attempt. After that the servers loaded down the left, the text channels beside them, and the message box at the bottom. Every channel already held its earlier history, and the avatars loaded too.

Reading is the easy half, so we tested the other one. We typed into a channel and the message went out and appeared there. Then we started over the way a stranger would: nothing stored, no cached copy of the page, a fresh sign-in. We opened Discord again and the message was in the channel. Any app can draw your message on screen before it has reached the server, so watching it appear proves little. Finding it again after a new sign-in proves Discord wrote it down.

Then you need no account at all. An invite link opens through TrickyBird into the same preview Discord shows anyone, the server’s name and how many people are in it and how many are online right now, with a form to create an account there on the same page.

Turkey and Russia both blocked Discord nationwide in October 2024, Turkey on a court order enforced by its telecoms regulator and Russia through Roskomnadzor; Turkish news was still covering the block as live in July 2026. Mainland China has blocked Discord since July 2018, and it still showed as blocked in GreatFire’s results when we read them on 30 July 2026. Iran blocks it as well, though we have no date for when that started. Egypt is the odd one out: Discord stopped working across the country on 11 January 2026 and was back by midnight the following night, with no explanation given. Below the country level the pattern is looser, because network filters tend to catch Discord along with games and chat apps as a category rather than singling it out.

Discord sees a connection arriving from TrickyBird rather than from your own address. Signing in is a separate matter: once you do, Discord knows which account is talking, exactly as it would in any other browser. To run the service and curb abuse, the edge keeps a shortened form of your IP address, the hostname of the site you connected to, and basic response details, kept for at most 48 hours, with no TrickyBird account for any of it to attach to.
