Unblock Discord and get back into your servers

Discord is blocked on plenty of networks. Paste discord.com into TrickyBird and press Launch, and it opens in the same browser tab, with Discord’s own sign-in screen loading there: your email address and your password, the same 2 fields as on any other computer. You download nothing, and there is no TrickyBird account to create first.

Almost every answer to a blocked Discord starts with an install. Get the app, or get a VPN. That advice runs straight into the reason you are stuck, because the computer in front of you belongs to someone else and it refuses installers and browser extensions alike. TrickyBird is a web proxy, which is a website like any other. Opening Discord through it asks the device for the same permission opening any other page asks for, which is none.

Once you are in, the servers load down the left, the text channels beside them, and every channel opens with everything already written in it, avatars included. Your browser does not connect to discord.com: its requests go to one of our own addresses, which carries the Discord address inside it, encoded rather than spelled out. The status note below says what we did with an account of our own, and what we have not tried.

What to expect from Discord

We signed in to a real account with an email address and password. We opened a server, read a channel’s history, and wrote in it. Then we came back as if for the first time, with nothing stored and a fresh sign-in. The message was still there. That was on a desktop; we have not tried it in a phone browser.

Is discord.com blocked on your network?

The check asks discord.com for one small file directly from your connection, not through TrickyBird, so your network can see that request like any direct visit.

How does TrickyBird open Discord?

Your browser talks to TrickyBird, and TrickyBird connects to discord.com for you. On the way through it rewrites the HTML, CSS, and JavaScript so that every link, image, and request inside the page leads back to TrickyBird’s own address instead of out to Discord. A small script stays behind in the tab and catches whatever the app loads later, which on Discord is nearly all of it.

Discord is less a page than an app that holds one connection open for as long as you have it on screen. New messages arrive down that connection rather than on a reload, and TrickyBird tunnels it through the proxy the same way it carries the page itself. Traffic runs both ways on it, so what you type leaves the tab by the same route new messages come in on. Telegram and WhatsApp keep their own live connections open through the proxy the same way.

Can you sign in to your own account?

Yes, with the email address and password you already use.

Discord leads with that form rather than with a code you scan from a phone, so the computer in front of you is enough on its own. Not every messenger works that way: WhatsApp Web shows nothing at all until a phone with the account on it links the session.

One way in does not work here. Discord can also sign you in with a passkey, the kind your device unlocks with a fingerprint or a PIN instead of a password, and a passkey is bound to the exact address the page came from. Through TrickyBird that address is not Discord’s own, so the key does not match and the prompt fails. Any proxy that rewrites addresses runs into the same limit. Email and password is the route that works.

What if all you have is an invite link?

Then you need no account at all. An invite link opens through TrickyBird into the same preview Discord shows anyone, the server’s name and how many people are in it and how many are online right now, with a form to create an account there on the same page.

Where is Discord blocked?

Turkey and Russia both blocked Discord nationwide in October 2024, Turkey on a court order enforced by its telecoms regulator and Russia through Roskomnadzor; Turkish news was still covering the block as live in July 2026. Mainland China has blocked Discord since July 2018, and it still showed as blocked in GreatFire’s results when we read them on 30 July 2026. Iran blocks it as well, though we have no date for when that started. Egypt is the odd one out: Discord stopped working across the country on 11 January 2026 and was back by midnight the following night, with no explanation given. Below the country level the pattern is looser, because network filters tend to catch Discord along with games and chat apps as a category rather than singling it out.

Is your Discord session private through TrickyBird?

Discord sees a connection arriving from TrickyBird rather than from your own address. Signing in is a separate matter: once you do, Discord knows which account is talking, exactly as it would in any other browser. To run the service and curb abuse, the edge keeps a shortened form of your IP address, the hostname of the site you connected to, and basic response details, kept for at most 48 hours, with no TrickyBird account for any of it to attach to.

Questions

Can I use Discord when my network blocks it?

Yes. TrickyBird opens discord.com in the browser tab you already have open, so there is no app to install and no admin rights to ask for. That is what lets it work on a device someone else manages. Your network sees a connection to TrickyBird rather than one to Discord.

Do I need to install the Discord app or a VPN?

No. TrickyBird is a website, so opening Discord through it takes the same permission from the device as opening any other page. That is the step where an app or a VPN gets refused on a managed laptop. You never have to take that step, and there is no TrickyBird account to create.

Can I log in to my Discord account through TrickyBird?

Yes, with your email address and password, the same fields Discord shows on a direct visit. No second device comes into it, which is what makes it workable on a computer that is not yours. TrickyBird adds no sign-in of its own and does not get around Discord’s. A passkey is the one route that will not work here.

Can I actually send messages, or only read them?

You can send. The message box at the bottom of a channel works the way it does anywhere else, and what you type goes out over the same connection your new messages arrive on. Whether Discord wrote it down is the question underneath, and coming back to the channel later is what answers it.

Does an invite link work if I have no Discord account?

Yes. An invite link opens through TrickyBird into the preview Discord shows anyone: the server’s name, how many members it has, how many are online, and a form to create an account on that same page. No account and no app are needed to get that far.
