How to use TrickyBird

  1. Go to the homepage.
  2. Type or paste a website address, or just type what you’re looking for and we’ll search for it.
  3. Click Launch (or press Enter). The site opens in the same tab.

There is no account to create and nothing to install, so the same steps work on a school Chromebook, a managed work laptop, or a phone, anywhere you have a browser but cannot add software. The site opens through TrickyBird’s own address, so its name stays out of your address bar and off the page you see.

Quick-launch tiles

The tiles below the search bar open popular sites in 1 click, so there is nothing to type or spell. Each tile does exactly what typing that address would do, and it launches the site through TrickyBird in the same tab. When the site you want is not shown, type its address or a few search words in the box instead.

If a page stops working

Most issues clear up on their own. If a page is not loading correctly, try these in order:

  • Return to the homepage and open the site again. Each launch starts a fresh session, and a session lasts only about an hour before it expires, so reopening clears most temporary glitches.
  • Check that the address is spelled correctly, and try adding https:// at the start. If you typed a few words rather than a full address, open the site from the search result instead.
  • Some sites actively block access from outside their own pages, so they may not load fully through any web proxy. Before you rely on a particular site, look it up on the status page, which lists the sites our own tests currently show opening.

Contact us

If none of the steps above help, email support@trickybird.com and tell us the address you were opening, what you saw instead, and roughly when. There is no account to look up and no ticket number, so what you put in the message is what we work from. Report a copyright complaint to dmca@trickybird.com and an acceptable-use or abuse complaint to abuse@trickybird.com.
