Unblock Mistral and get an answer without signing in
Mistral answers without an account, and it does that through TrickyBird as well. Paste chat.mistral.ai, press Launch, and the assistant opens in the same browser tab through TrickyBird’s own address, with nothing to install and no sign-up on either side. In our own tests we asked it for the capital of France, and “Paris” streamed back into a signed-out session.
Assistants get filtered in more places than most sites: workplaces block them on the corporate network, and schools restrict them over academic-integrity rules. Mistral also lands in whatever AI category a filter ships with, so when a network switches that category off, it goes along with everything else in that list. Mainland China is the harder version of the same thing: independent measurement from OONI recorded 39 anomalies across 39 measurements on chat.mistral.ai since January 2025, which is 0 successful connections. Your browser only connects to TrickyBird, which leaves no mistral.ai request for a filter to match.
The claims on this page come from our own tests. 3 live checks cover the chat page, a signed-out answer, and the sign-in form, and all 3 pass. It took 0 gateway changes to get there: Mistral rendered and answered the first time we pointed the proxy at it.

How does TrickyBird open Mistral?
Your browser talks to TrickyBird, and TrickyBird fetches Mistral for you. It rewrites the HTML, CSS, and JavaScript so every link, script, and request points back through its own address, and a small script stays in the tab to catch whatever the app loads while you type. On every surface we measured, 0 requests from the browser reached a mistral.ai host.
The answer is the part that usually breaks. Mistral does not hand over a reply in one finished block: it streams the text in as the model writes it. TrickyBird carries that stream through without collecting it into one late block, so the words appear on screen the way they do without the proxy.
Mistral moves sign-in to a second address of its own, v2.auth.mistral.ai. That handoff stays on the proxy: the page opens through TrickyBird and its email form comes up there. A handoff to another origin is exactly where a proxied session can slip back onto the open network, and on that surface too, 0 requests went direct.
What works on Mistral through TrickyBird?
Signed out you get the assistant itself. The chat page opens, you type a question, and the answer streams back. Mistral caps a signed-out session at 4 messages and counts them for you in the interface, so a short exchange is what the signed-out mode gives you. The cap is Mistral’s own and has nothing to do with the proxy.
Mistral’s assistant launched as Le Chat, and the interface now calls itself Vibe. It is the same assistant under either name, and it is not the only one our tests cover: ChatGPT and Claude have pages of their own, and so does Hugging Face, the model and dataset library.
Nothing installs on your side, and TrickyBird has no sign-up, so a managed work laptop that refuses new software can still open the page. Opening it is the same action as opening any other page.
TrickyBird is for reaching a public site your network blocks, and for keeping your IP address away from that site. It is not a way into an account that is not yours, and not a way past paywalls or copyright.
Is your Mistral session private through TrickyBird?
Mistral sees the connection coming from TrickyBird rather than from your IP address, and the network you are on sees a connection to TrickyBird rather than to Mistral. The Mistral name stays out of the URL, off the page, and out of the requests your browser sends, which is the part a filter would otherwise match on.
On our side, the edge keeps a short access log to run the service and stop abuse: a shortened form of your IP address, the hostname of the site you connected to, and basic response details, kept for at most 48 hours. What you asked and what came back are not in it, and there is no TrickyBird account for any of it to attach to. Our privacy page has the full picture.
What you type still goes to Mistral, and Mistral’s own terms decide what happens to it there. A proxy changes where the connection appears to come from, not who is answering you.
